Charles Brinker, CMG North American Technician Excellence
(NATE)
North
American Technician Excellence (NATE,) headquartered in Arlington, VA.,
was founded in 1997 and is the nation’s largest non-profit certification
organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration
technicians. NATE is the only technician certification organization governed,
owned, operated, developed and supported by the HVACR industry.
Contractors
like CMG support NATE Certification because certified technicians remain in
the industry longer, and have the knowledge to do the job right the first
time and are more productive than non-certified technicians.
Manufacturers
& distributors support NATE Certification because certification
encourages proper installation and service of equipment by knowledgeable
technicians, which means fewer warranty returns and ultimately, a better
bottom line.
Educators
and trainers support NATE Certification because they benefit from a uniform
standard of knowledge that allows them to better prepare the technician
workforce of tomorrow.
Utilities support NATE Certification
because properly trained and tested technicians can assure the correct
installation and servicing of sophisticated HVAC/R equipment that saves
energy and money when operating at peak efficiency. |

Charles Brinker, CMG International Ground Source Heat Pump Association
(IGSHPA)
The International
Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) is a non-profit, member-driven
organization established in 1987 to advance ground source heat pump (GSHP) technology
on local, state, national and international levels. Headquartered on the
campus of Oklahoma State University
in Stillwater, Oklahoma, IGSHPA utilizes state-of-the-art
facilities for conducting GSHP system installation training and geothermal
research. With its access to the most current advancements in the geothermal
industry, IGSHPA is the ideal bridge between the latest technology and the
people who benefit from these developments. GSHPs are a cost effective,
energy efficient, and environmentally friendly way of heating and cooling
buildings. Both the DOE and the EPA have endorsed the technology. GSHPs
reliably deliver quality air-conditioning and heating, on demand, in every
season.
Benefits:
· Simultaneously heat
& cool different parts of the same building
· Very quiet--users do
not know when the system is operating
· Can be set up in
multiple zones, with each zone having an individual room control
· Greater freedoms in
building design due to 50-80% less mechanical room space
· No outside equipment
to hide, eliminating vandalism and roof top units
· Pipes have 50-year
life expectancy
· All electric, which
eliminates multiple utility services
· Expel boiler and
chiller maintenance
· Ground heat
exchanger is maintenance free and will last 40+ years |
